Rui dos Reis- « Polygammes » cinq pièces brèves pour piano

Les concerts symphoniques et de musique de chambre étant pour l’heure suspendus à cause du COVID-19, les musiciens d’orchestre se sont trouvés soudainement désœuvrés. Pour combler un peu ce vide, j’ai composé quelques pièces brèves pour piano à l’intention de ma belle-fille Catherine Chen, bassoniste exceptionnelle privée de performances publiques, mais aussi pianiste de talent qui, momentanément, ne peut exercer son métier de Premier Basson de l’Orchestre Symphonique de Milwaukee (WI). Ces divertissements pourraient profiter à d’autres musiciens d’orchestre, en les encourageant à s’exprimer au moyen d’un instrument autre que le leur.

Concert halls, theatres, clubs and other performing locations became all idle, due to the COVID-19. Suddenly, artists and musicians lack of any chance to perform in public. To help fill this void, I composed some short piano pieces for my daughter Catherine Chen, who is an extraordinary bassoonist and a talented pianist but cannot, momentarily, perform with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra (WI) where she acts as Principal Bassoon. These divertimentos could also give other classical musicians the opportunity to play an instrument other than their own.
